Driving my newly bought TE from melb i got to the dog on a tuckerbox (a little over 500km) with around 3/4's of a tank. That was with giving it a bit of a boot now and then. so in theory i could have gotten between 6 and 7 hundred km's out of that tank (the fuel gauge i suspect is innacurate as it reads just below full when filled to the absolute limit). And it's sitting on Half a tank since i refilled at the Dog on the tuckerbox. so 380kms on half a tank. 3rd gens love those highways

Am yet to find out how much it likes local driving. should know in a few weeks

    i have a tj solara.
im getting 11 around town in granny mode. if i start getting spirited, it jumps up pretty fast so i keep that to a minimal wen im trying to save petrol.
on the highways, im getting around 7. if the roads are nice and flat, it sits at around 5. remarkably, it's not too bad at all. keep the air filter clean. half way on my last road trip, i had to pull over and tap it clean again cos the efficiency was going down. once i put it back in, it was nice and low again.
